Sales Promotions
Loyalty Card
Every 4 times you go, on the 4th time you get 15% of your order. People will be wanting to go more often to get the 15% discount, because especially at an expensive restaurant you could save a fair amount of money. Also, if you want to go to the restaurant with a group of people, using the discount would be a good idea.
Samples:
Every once and a while there could be someone standing outside the store with a sample of a dish. For the Yorkville location, the samples could attract potential customers, because many people like shopping and visiting Yorkville. There are a handful of French restaurants in the area, so if people try samples and like them, they might be interested in checking out other dishes in our restaurant. For both the Ossington and Leslieville locations, there are no French restaurants in those areas. I think people would be very curious if a new cuisine was introduced, and would give it a try if they liked the sample.
Hosting a food event:
Hosting an event called something like "Experience the Taste of Toronto's Fine French Cuisine" would be a good way to position the restaurant as the center of the food scene in the specific market. That would leverage the reputation, and also holding an event would create the opportunity to recruit additional people for promoting the event. Also, if our business held an event we would have an edge by garnering local publicity.
Coupons:
Usually expensive restaurants don't really give out coupons, but we have a coupon for $9 off a bottle of wine for a limited time only. Ordering wine at a restaurant can be daunting because you might think the most expensive bottle is the best or the restaurant staff might not know enough about the wine they serve. Wine at our restaurant can range in price from $15 to $40, and we think customers deserve a discount other restaurants like ours might not offer.
Connect with tourists:
There are always tourists in Toronto, and a lot of the time they like to go out for dinner, and explore the diverse cuisine. I think that asking hotels, or any other major tourist attractions to put our menu in their buildings would help increase business sales, because our Yorkville location is in Yorkiville, which is a tourist attraction. If tourists shop in Yorkville and are hungry, they could potentially stop at our restaurant if they had seen the menu for it.
