Customer Services
Sales Services
Payment with cash, credit card, or debit card: Some restaurants require you to pay only cash for a meal, and if people don't know that, they might not have cash on hand. If you give people any of those payment options, they won't have to remember to bring a certain type of payment.
Flaws in the meal: I think that if a customer finds something they shouldn't in their meal, such as a piece of meat in a vegetarian dish, the most appropriate action would be to get the server to replace the meal. That would show the restaurant really cares and values their customers.
Customer Satisfaction Comment Card: When customers get their bills, it might be a good idea to give them a short comment card to fill out. Then the restaurant could get a bit of feedback on what customers think. Questions could be "Would you consider coming back?", "On a scale of 1-5 rate the service.", "Did the quality of the food meet your expectations?" etc.
Convenience Services
Convenient Location: I think that having a business close to a subway is important. If people who don't have cars want to eat at the restaurant, they would have to take the subway or walk. Having a restaurant close to a subway means the customer wouldn't have to walk very far from the subway to get to the restaurant. Also if it rains, they can get home fairly quickly by subway.
Late Hours: Yorkville is a "night spot" in Toronto. Not every restaurant is open late, but in this instance it would be appropriate to have the restaurant open late. People who like to be around that area at night might get hungry, and want to stop somewhere for something to eat. Also, there are art galleries and movie theaters around the area, so after that people might also get hungry.
Washrooms: I have been to some restaurants where there is only one stall and many people are in line. We will have multiple stalls, for people's convenience, so they won't have to wait long to use the washroom. Also in our washrooms we will always make sure to have enough paper towels and toilet paper, so you won't have to go searching for any.
Community Services
Senior Discount: Since our restaurants is located in Yorkville, everything is pretty expensive. So what would seniors who want to enjoy a fancy meal do if they can't afford to spend a lot on a meal? There is a special seniors discount for people 65 years or over and they get 15% off each meal.
Donations: Restaurants usually have leftovers after a night of service. So our restaurant could donate leftovers to a place like Second Harvest, and they accept leftovers from restaurants to feed people in need.
Sponsorship: In another area of the Annex, there is an arena that has house league hockey programs. Having a business name on a jersey offers opportunities for distinct marketing, as well as showing support of the event.
